Krunchr is a product of Artisam Labs. We build tax-compliance software for Philippine self-employed freelancers, and we take the privacy of your financial data seriously. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Introduction
Krunchr helps self-employed individuals prepare and file Philippine tax returns (BIR Forms 2551Q, 1701Q, and 1701A/1701) from Form 2307 income data, and anchors a cryptographic hash of each filing on the Stellar blockchain as an immutable receipt.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you visit our website, use our app, or interact with our services. By using Krunchr, you consent to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information — name, email address, and a password you choose to access the app.
- Taxpayer profile — details needed to prepare returns, such as your Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), RDO, tax type, and filing-path elections.
- Income and filing data — Form 2307 certificates you upload, tax-year records, and the returns, packages, and elections you generate or file.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, browser type, device, and approximate region inferred from IP address.
- Security & audit data — we keep an append-only audit log of state-changing actions (elections, filings, overpayment dispositions, anchoring retries) for compliance and integrity.

3. How we use your information
- To operate Krunchr — computing returns, generating filing packages and SAWT, and anchoring filing receipts on Stellar.
- To authenticate you and protect your account, including session management via signed, httpOnly cookies.
- To provide support and respond to your inquiries.
- To send important account or compliance notifications (for example, approaching due dates). You can opt out of non-essential communications.
- To improve our services, monitor reliability, and diagnose issues.
- To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraud or abuse.
4. Sharing your information
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share information only in these limited ways:
- Service providers — trusted third parties that help us run Krunchr (for example, hosting, storage, and the Stellar network for on-chain anchoring), bound by confidentiality and reasonable security obligations.
- Legal authorities — when required by Philippine law, a court order, or to protect our rights or the rights of others.
- With your consent — where you have expressly agreed to a specific disclosure.
The Stellar anchoring step writes a hash (not your document content or personal data) to a public blockchain. The hash is a fingerprint that lets you prove a filing existed at a point in time — it cannot be reverse-engineered into your filing.
5. Data retention
We keep your information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes in this policy and to meet legal and accounting obligations. Tax-year records and audit-log entries are generally retained for the period required by Philippine tax law (commonly up to ten years), after which they are deleted or anonymized. On-chain hashes are, by design, permanent and cannot be removed.
6. Data security
We apply technical and organizational safeguards — encrypted connections, signed session cookies, isolated storage for generated PDFs, and append-only audit logging. Authentication credentials are never stored in plain text. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is fully secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Cookies
We use a small set of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential — required to keep you signed in and to make the app work.
- Preference — remember your choices, such as cookie-consent status.
- Analytics — help us understand how the app is used, only if enabled.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will affect sign-in and core functionality. Our cookie-consent prompt lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies.
8. Your rights
Subject to applicable Philippine law, you may request:
- Access to the personal data we hold about you;
- Correction of inaccurate data;
- Deletion of your data, where legally permitted;
- Withdrawal of consent for processing that relies on it;
- Opt-out of marketing communications at any time.

9. Third-party links and services
Krunchr may link to external websites (for example, government resources) and integrates with the public Stellar network. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. Review their policies before sharing any personal information with them.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use of Krunchr after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
